“ Fantastic spot for a bowl of authentic bun bo hue! I ordered the small #1 and even then portions were MASSIVE, with a generous amount of protein especially (pork blood cakes, tendon, lean cuts). I like how the broth isn’t super oily either and they give a lot of fresh toppings like banana blossoms, chili paste, and shrimp paste. They only take cash and debit. ”
“ so good...want an authentic bun bo hue and you are nguoi Hue? this is your place...can be busy, across the street is a hood pho place if that’s what you prefer ”
“ We are from the east coast so the portions and flavors are out of this world. If you can get past the small homeless camp in front of the store, the food and services are excellent. Service is quick and friendly and the portions are huge. Highly recommended. 17-19 for a bowl. ”
“ Authentic taste of Bun Bo Hue. I got recommended from a friend who lives here for a long time. This place is known best for its Bun Bo Hue, as is its name. We ordered one Bun Bo Hue and one Pho Tai Bo Vien, with an iced coffee with condensed milk. No comment on Bun Bo Hue because it’s very good. Pho was okay, but the iced coffee with condensed milk was super strong and thick. I have to let ice melt to tone down the strong flavor. This is just like what a Vietnamese would drink. Strong coffee with ice that you can drink all day. The staff was fast and attentive. They moved fast, took orders fast and served fast. ”
“ When you first walk into Bun Bo Hue An Nam, it smells like fermented shrimp paste. We order a few bowls bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle) 17, hu tieu/mi nam vang (dry noodles with soup on the side) 17 and a kid's size pho thit with meatballs 9. Everything tasted great. For the hu tieu nam vang, I love how you can mix the vegetables into the noodles. It almost felt like eating a salad. When you get to the bottom, are there crispy pork grind pieces with ground pork meat. The soup on the side had a nice size bone in it with some meat. They made the egg noodles with the right amount of cooking time leaving it firm and not soft. Great job staff at Bun Bo Hue An Nam. ”
“ TLDR: just eat the bun bo hue! So good! It’s named that for a reason and they don’t go making a huge menu for all different tastes, there’s bun Bo hue and pho and that’s it! It’s because they are good at what they do and you should trust the chef. The soup noodles have a great flavor and tastes like a soup that’s been boiled for a long time. The meat is just right and the noodles were perfect consistency. ”
“ I heard this place has the best bun Bo hue so I was really excited to try this place. It definitely did not disappoint, the meats were really well cooked and tender and my favorite were the slices of pork belly. The broth was more clear than I’m use to for a bun Bo hue broth but it was still savory and spicy, I think for me it would’ve been the perfect Bun Bo Hue if the broth flavor was just a bit bolder and saltier which is probably a personal preference. ”
“ Another great recommendation from a friend. There are so many Vietnamese places to eat out here that I feel like you can't go wrong. The BBH here is better than most of the places back home for me. The flavor of the broth is great, and the quantity is also generous (maybe twice as much as what I'm used to). I also ordered a side of meat, not knowing how much protein was in the bowl. They have some fresh chili that you can add to make it spicier. One thing to remember that they only take cash or debit card (no credit cards). ”
